What size log should I choose?
We offer two different log lengths, 25cm and 40cm. 25cm logs will fit 99% of wood burning stoves, but we also offer 40cm logs for the larger appliances that consume more fuel as we have found that larger/thicker logs have a tendency to burn for longer in the bigger stoves. Larger logs are also suitable for outdoor firepits and open fireplaces.
Please note, that all logs will vary plus or minus 10% due to the nature of the harvesting process.
Where do you deliver?
We deliver across East Anglia. Check the delivery page for a comprehensive list of covered postcodes. Our drivers are capable of delivering both on and off road (e.g. gravel driveways or dirt roads), thanks to our wheeled crate mover.
How is the firewood delivered?
Depending on your order, the logs will be stacked in a 1m3 pallet crate, in a barrow sack, or bagged. The density of the stacking means increased value for money vs. loose logs (1m3 stacked is equiveland to 1.6m3 loose).
How should I store kiln-dried logs?
Store logs in a dry, well-ventilated area off the ground. Avoid covering completely with plastic — airflow is essential. For ideal protection from the elements, add one of our crate rain jackets to your order.
Why do kiln-dried logs burn better?
Lower moisture content means:
Easier lighting
More heat
Less tar build-up
Reduced chimney deposits
Properly dried wood burns cleaner and produces significantly less smoke than wet or unseasoned logs. This means more heat per log for you, and less pollution for the environment.
Are your logs suitable for fire pits?
Yes — kiln-dried Ash hardwood is ideal for fire pits as it burns cleanly and produces strong, attractive flames. We recommend the larger 40cm logs as they will burn for longer in the open.
Can I use these logs in a pizza oven?
Yes. Hardwood logs such as ash are excellent for wood-fired cooking, imparting a natural smokey flavour.
